What would the Once-ler do?

Today I've been tasked with making 5 questions about the lorax. the questions are about kaitiakatanga. (kaitiakatanga is guardianship and protection of the land) the questions were only a bit time-consuming and frustrating, here they are :

Mr Once-ler why didn’t you replant more trees? 

Mr Once-ler did you have any ideas of how many trees you could cut?

Mr Once-ler why didn’t you  just sheared off most of the leaves off the trees? 

Mr Once-ler why did you destroy the landscape?

Mr Once-ler why didn’t you use a more sustainable power source?

    Well done with your questions! It does take time to think about the deeper meaning in texts, I'm interesting to know why you found this frustrating. Do you think the Lorax could have done more to convince the Once-ler to stop destroying the environment?
