I have chosen to use a mix of diamonds and octagons and attempted to make a map of New Zealand here it is:

Hi Samuel. Great to see you sharing your mathematics task. I agree that it does take a lot longer than I had first anticipated. The upside was the app was very effective at producing a tessellation. Next time try adding some extra colours. Do you think that would enhance the tessellation? Tino pai!
